This is a small accessory with one job, it lets the 15.6" or 21.5" calendar attach to a metal surface, usually a fridge, without drilling into a wall. If your calendar is going on the kitchen fridge instead of a wall, this is the piece that makes it work.
The idea is simple. A mounting plate screws onto the back of the calendar using a standard 100x100mm VESA pattern, the same hole spacing a lot of monitor mounts use. That plate holds a set of magnets strong enough to grip a refrigerator door and keep the calendar flat against it.
Setup is three steps: plug in the power cable, screw the mounting plate to the back of the calendar, then press it onto any smooth, flat metal surface. No wall anchors, no drilling, and it comes off just as easily if you move or rearrange the kitchen.
The plate has rubber pads where it touches the metal surface, so it's not bare metal rubbing against your fridge door, that's there specifically to avoid scratches over time.
It's rated for calendars up to 21.5" and 5kg (about 11 lbs), which covers both the 15.6" and 21.5" models. It's not compatible with the 27" or 27" 4K, those are heavier and meant for wall mounting instead.
This only matters if you're planning to skip wall mounting. If your calendar is going on a wall anyway, you likely don't need this at all. It's specifically for people who want the calendar on a fridge, or who'd rather not commit to a permanent wall spot.
